Cell phone etiquette in PUBLIC
I guess somewhat similar to PDA (public display of affection), I do believe there is a LIMIT!
While having a business lunch a woman having a convo for the entire restaurant, I really felt a part of the convo whether I wanted to be or not. So loud was she that I felt obliged to join her, so against the advice of my companion I approached her and said, "You are right, people who do that in public should be punished," and left.
In the parking lot she said, "Let me apologize, I don't usually speak that loud in public", I smiled and asked, "well what was the special ocassion?" She said, "" I just get excited at times and I forget where I am." And she just left.
Text people, especially if you are not a quiet talker when you're on the phone.
Too much emphasis on LABELS!
is it me, or has the world, or just someof it's overly zealous fashionistas have made the question, "who are you wearing" totally overkill?
Cases-in-point my sis works for this high-eng retailer, where shoes are $600., tops are $200. etc. So, today I swing by her place to borrow one of her big black leather bags (permission granted of course), anyhoo, borrowed this particular bag. So I'm going about my day, around midnight I turn my phone on to see a text from her saying, "for future please do not borrow my jas mb bag to go out and do just whatever because it costs a lot of mondy!"
So, I laugh and remember on Monday, I put on my over the knee black boots and had to throw it away becuase she wore it soooooo much last winter and last week that the sole has completely come away from the rest of the boot, and she never told me a single thing, she just put it back in my closet. I made it a point to go over to her place and put my boots in the garbage so she can see it, of course she still said nothing to me. So, this whole case with this great bag of hers, made me laugh.
I drove to her home, and put her bag back on her bed while she slept.
I'm amazed at how much of this 'brandname junkie' she has become. Mind you, her closet is full of $400 bags and shoes yet, she can't pay her simple bills, lol, I have no idea how she's going to manage her carpayments and insurance! I certainly am not going to be her loan center. Lol

Manners Matters
In the Caribbean, it's a norm that when you see someone most of the times even before you can get the words out, it's already been said to you, "Good morning, good afternoon, good evening," etc. I have noticed that in North America, it's as though people are afraid to say any type of greeting to another for fear of what, I have no idea.
Come on people it's not a weird thing to be kind and say a simple, "good morning" or whatever the case maybe. I've noticed that when I do, the looks on some peoples faces are totally priceless, it's as if they have never had good morning or whatever said to them.

Is it possible to make a difference in peoples lives on a daily basis?
This was the topic of discussion with a friend of mine. I said, "yes, it is possible to make a difference in anyones life on a daily basis. Whether it be a smile, a comforting word, a hug, anything." He says, 'nay, it's not possible to do such." This coming from a man who is a "freemason." First he says, he's not religious, he's spiritual, anyhoo, back to the reason for the post.
So,we're in this heated debate about making a difference in peoples' lives daily, and then he says, "well if you think it's possible then we have a difference of opinions."
Well, DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
I am a person who believes that the smallest sincere gesture to a stranger can make their day. One never knows, the kind of day that person has had, or whatever has happened, that has just made him/her feel undeserving, unloved, etc. Your smile, or gesture to allow them to have your cab, or giving up a seat on the bus, or even saying, good morning, good afternoon, good evening etc, can do a world of good to him/her.
So, if one day you realize that the $10.00 that you thought you put in your pocket ends up on the floor in the coffee shop, or on the street, remember, what you lost can put dinner on the table for another who is down on his/her luck.
Make a difference in someones life today. It won't cost you a single thing! Share the Wealth, Share the LOVE!

Never more than We can handle
Well if God never gives us more than we cab handle, Dear Lord, can you hold up just for a sec please? :)

Reading from James about judging others
Today in church the minister preached on favourtism and it was awesome!
It really made me open my eyes and my mind as to how it is I/we all place importance on someones outward appearance, afterall, you only get one chance to make a FIRST impression, however, judging someone solely on that is ever so wrong! I am guilty of seeing someone sight alone and never having spoken to them and simply judging and making up my mind about that person even before getting to know them. Someone once told me, "whenever I see a black guy walk by I always clutch my bag harder", lol, to which I simply said, 'you know Jeffery Dahmer was a white man, but I certainly don't believe that every white man I see wants to eat me.
I know many people have judged me without getting to know me and when they get to know me, I always hear, "I never knew......" lol.
Do you judge someone purely on their accomplishments, wealth, age, lineage etc.?
When we judge others, let's remember to look at that man/woman staring back at us in that mirror and judge that person instead of others.

When life takes you by surprise
Well, is it really that life has taken you by surprise, or is it just that LIFE does not follow your own particular plan, therefore you are surprised when the outcome is not what you had planned!?
I often make these grand plans for mainly a week, 5, 10 years in advance and at times I have the nerve to be surprised when it has not gone according to what I scheduled, no matter how ontrack I am, lol. Ooh well, just keep on trucking along just like the little engine...instead of I THINK I CAN, I KNOW I WILL!!

Teenage boys are hilarious!
On my way home I stop off at the cafe to get myself a chai tea latte, to overhear 2 boys speaking about a girl called Jody. Apparently, Jody texts Paul between the hours of 3:30-3:45 a.m. every morning and asks him the same thought-provoking question, "are you ready for the $10,000,000.00 question?" She asks, "Are you up???" LMFAO.
Funny thing is Paul admits "to never responding, even though she's finer than Beyonce' without the body." Lol. And this has been going on for the past 3mths.
Moral: It never hurts to overhear some convos, they make you Laugh Out Loud!!

Amazing weather
It's almost the end of October and it's 14 degrees in Toronto, SENSATIONAL weather, and whenever weather is so sweet you tend to see some silly people dressed as though it is summer.
I did sit and watch some geese just enjoying it all in my area.

Reused Cell Numbers
It's great when you purhase a new cell, and you hope that the number is brand spanking new........UNTIL, you start to receive tons of phone calls for individuals you have no clue who even exist! This has been happening to me lately and I have just about had enough!!
Another thing, I don't think those who call and leave messages even bother to listen to the greeting, which makes me ask another question, "why am I paying for VM?" I clearly state my name and my non-association to the indivduals, yet msgs are still left.
Shall I change my number? Of course there is a fee for this, which I refuse to pay!!

Horrifically Horrifying Body Odors
There is a reason why I drive and not utilize public transportation, the main reason is the stench of some individuals, it is enough to make me sick, literally!
Please, DEODARANT....USE IT!!!

$10,000.00 to build a website?
I'm still laughing. I'm not sure what I expected, but when I went to another company I was told $22,000 and when I tried a third, well, I won't even bother at the moment.

You've got to fight
Fight and go after what it is you want with gusto!
I have never really had anyone to truly push me and or support me in my dreams and goals, not even parents. Ooh sure, they say, 'if you want to do that, then go ahead,' but that's not the support I want and need.
I remember when I was a kid, my mom, not so much my dad, but more so my mom, always put me in activities she wanted me to pursue, not what I wanted to do and I despised them all. As I got older, it continued. I studied what she told me to, I did what she said to the point where I just stopped doing and almost flunked out of college and university, I said 'almost.'
When I was a kid, I loved singing, though I was shy, once I got going, you had nothing on me, lol. Again, I was never directed towards that direction. It's only recently my mom admitted to me that "when I was a kid, teenager, she never steered me in the direction of music because when she was a girl she had won a talent show and had gotten an opportunity to have a record deal with Motown, but she never pursued it because SHE WAS TOO SCARED!!! And she didn't want to let me go, not even when I was at an age to make my own decisions etc.
But, long story short, I have never been that type of person to stand on the sidelines and just let things pass by. I have always been an adventurer.
So, by the power of the Almighty and my faith in all things he has promised are already done and I have claimed, I am not AFRAID!! F.E.A.R. = False Evidence Appearing Real

It's great being mobile
Whether you take that subject line as, driving, being able to make your own decisions, or just being able to connect via your cell phone, it's great being mobile!!
That tied to feeling is not connected at all. You're up and your moving whether it's forward, I know not, but you are moving.
So, I met up with a young designer yesterday and I will admit to being a bit awed by his thought process as well as what he brought to the table in terms of personality and designs. We'll see what happens.
Keep moving forward!

When no one believes in you and your dreams/goals
Believe in and trust that God has already taken care of you.
That was never easy for me to say, believe, and or admit especially with all that has happened, but with all that has happened, friends, family failed, or whatever just not working out at that time, I was never more loved and taken cared of by anyone at what could have been my lowest time.
I have learned that life is a storm. You will bask in the sunshine, then beaten by the waves the next, however, what makes you a man/woman, is what you do after that storm has passed.

Froze my credit card
So in an attempt to halt aggressive shopping I have taken my VISA and literally froze it.
Steps to Credit Card Freeze:
1. Take smoking CC, place in dark container filled with water.
2. Place in the freezer
3. FORGET IT THERE!!!!
REMEMBER TO PAY YOUR BILL!

Do you ever give up?
After a certain time in your life when do you stop and just accept that the fairytale life you always imagined for yourself just isn't going to be?
OR.......
Do you take the focus off of yourself and help another reach their goals, and in so doing both of you reach your desired goal(s)?

Slowly but surely making progress
Something about treating yourself to footwear always seems to boost ones spirit, needless to say the bank accounts feel a bit sad at the lost
of some of their buddies, but, c'est es la vie

Frustration is a hell of a thing you know.
How hard is it to change a domain name huh?
Why ooh why did my hosting company take all of a wk to do one simple change?
WHY? Simply because there were about 8 people involved, this is the thing with ONE MAIN EMAIL GOING TO ONE DEPARTMENT, everyone in that department can go to the particular ticket and attend ot it.
Now, that I finally get things going, HELLO....things are STILL not functional!!! Grrrrrrrrrr
Starting up your own business...
This is one of the most challenging things I haveever done, ever, yes, I am referring to starting my own business especially in such economic times, however, I have never been one to back down from a challenge!

Ladies, wooohoooo...
I just have a simple tiny question for you...what do you want in your clothing?
Do you want what EVERY OTHER WOMAN IS WEARING?
Do you want to spend money you don't have JUST to say you have it?
Do you want trendy, classic, well tailored, or fall apart after one wash?
Talk to me! WHAT DO YOU WANT WHEN IT COMES TO YOUR CLOTHING etc.?
